A New York federal judge on Friday extended an order barring Third World Press Inc. from publishing "The Diary of Malcolm X" until early next year when she can rule on a bid by the heirs of the civil rights leader for an injunction against the publisher.

X Legacy LLC, created by the heirs of Malcolm X to protect the property held by his estate, hit Third World Press Inc. with a copyright infringement lawsuit in New York federal court on Friday, seeking to stop TWP from publishing "The Diary of Malcolm X."
