A Washington, D.C., federal judge on Wednesday said that the U.S. Senate's "torture report" is a classified document protected from the Freedom of Information Act, and dismissed the American Civil Liberty Union's suit seeking the full report.

The American Civil Liberties Union on Tuesday filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the Central Intelligence Agency seeking the release of a U.S. Senate committee report on the agency's post-9/11 program of detention and interrogation of detainees, as well as the CIA's response to that review.
