Former Applebee's workers in Illinois will be compensated for earned and unused vacation days under a $650,000 settlement agreement announced between the chain and a certified class of employees Tuesday.

Nationwide chain Applebee's Services Inc. was sued Friday by a proposed class of Illinois tipped employees who say that they washed dishes, prepared food and performed other tasks that should bump them up to minimum wage, and that the chain took back their previously earned vacation pay.
