A Massachusetts federal judge Wednesday shipped the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's suit accusing several online short-term lenders of hiding behind a tribal relationship while engaging in unfair, deceptive and abusive loan collection practices to California, where he said most of the alleged activity took place.

CFPB Says Online Loan Scheme Gouged Borrowers
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Monday filed its first online lending lawsuit, accusing companies involved with loans purportedly governed by tribal law of engaging in unfair, deceptive and abusive loan collection practices, including charging interest rates of up to 343 percent.
