Amazon.com Inc. on Monday defended its bid to transfer a pending patent infringement lawsuit brought by Appistry Inc. from federal court in Missouri to the Internet retailer's home state of Washington, saying Appistry is attempting to "evade" the terms of a forum selection clause included in a click-through service agreement.

Appistry Fights Amazon's Bid To Move Computer Patent Suit
Computer technology developer Appistry Inc. on Friday fought Amazon.com Inc.'s bid to transfer a pending patent infringement lawsuit from Missouri to Amazon's home state of Washington, calling the request “absurd” and suggesting that the move is a power play by the world's largest Internet retailer.
