A real estate developer's affiliate urged an Arizona federal judge Monday to order a real estate investment trust that bought its loan on a property involved in a $136 million purchase deal to pay the affiliate back for the $1.6 million in allegedly "outrageous" fees.

EJM Kyrene Property LLC hit KTR Property Trust I and others with a breach of contract suit in Arizona federal court on Tuesday, claiming KTR delayed a property purchase — part of a $136 million deal — and then bought EJM's loan and demanded sums it was not owed.
