The Federal Trade Commission will collect $34 million that will be distributed to consumers in settlements for allegedly false weight loss product claims made by Sensa LLC, L'Occitane Inc., HCG Diet Direct LLC and LeanSpa LLC, the agency said Tuesday.

The Federal Trade Commission sued an Arizona company on Monday for allegedly misleading consumers by hawking a supplement derived from the human placenta that the agency says falsely promises substantial and rapid weight loss and is backed by bogus testimonials.
