Unreliable experts doomed the case of a former gas station attendant's widow who claimed that her husband developed cancer due to benzene in gasoline manufactured by Shell Oil Co., Chevron USA Inc. and Texaco Inc., a Louisiana federal judge said Monday.

Oil giants including Shell Oil Co., Chevron U.S.A. Inc. and Texaco Inc. convinced a Louisiana federal court to reject on Tuesday the testimony of an expert for the widow of a gas station worker who allegedly developed a blood cancer because of exposure to gasoline that contained benzene.
