An Indiana federal judge on Tuesday shot down competing quick win bids in a dispute between a Humvee manufacturer and a consultant who claims the company used his patented design for frame rails on the vehicles without compensating him.

A company that manufactures Humvees for the U.S. military asked an Indiana federal judge Friday to dismiss patent infringement and breach of contract claims brought by a consultant who says the company infringed his frame rail design, saying the consultant assigned his future rights in the design to the manufacturer before applying for a patent.
