Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA urged a Missouri federal court Thursday to toss a suit alleging one of its motorcycles has defects that create a dangerous heat issue, saying the plaintiff can't represent a nationwide class because he fails to make claims under the laws of many states.

Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA was hit with a putative class action in Missouri federal court Thursday that claims one of its motorcycles contains serious defects that cause heat to escape from the motor, rendering the vehicle dangerous and almost valueless.
