The city of Sarasota urged a Florida federal court Friday to toss a $100 million putative class action accusing it of breaching a contract with city retirees by requiring them to pay health and dental insurance premiums, saying the plaintiffs' firm is "forum shopping" and their claims are unsupported.

The city of Sarasota was hit Friday with a $100 million proposed class action in Florida federal court in which city retirees alleged they suffered significantly as a result of the city's decision to stop providing them with free lifetime health and dental insurance.
