A California federal judge on Monday rejected Facebook's bid to ax Mobile-Plan-It's case claiming the social media giant infringes a patent on electronic proxy communications, saying MPI's pleadings are sufficient to survive the U.S. Supreme Court's Alice ruling.

Facebook Inc. urged a California federal judge Thursday to ax Mobile-Plan-It's case claiming Facebook infringes a patent on electronic proxy communications, arguing the patent is invalid under the U.S. Supreme Court's Alice ruling because it simply computerizes a communication style as old as Cyrano de Bergerac.
