Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. fired back Friday at the medical group leading a proposed class action alleging the company violated junk fax laws under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, telling a Pennsylvania federal judge it's offered no legitimate reason why an already-eight-month stay on the case shouldn't continue.

A Pennsylvania federal judge on Monday placed a proposed class action accusing Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act in an indefinite holding pattern until the Federal Communications Commission decides whether solicited faxes should require opt-out notices.

A medical group practice filed a putative class action against Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Pennsylvania federal court Monday, alleging the company violated junk fax laws under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending out unsolicited faxes advertising the company's Lidoderm and Opana ER prescription pain relief drugs.
