A Florida federal judge on Thursday told a proposed class of consumers alleging American Eagle Outfitters Inc. sent them spam texts and eBay Enterprise Marketing Solution Inc. that the proposed class can't use an expert searching eBay Enterprise's database to seek class certification.

A Florida federal judge on Friday ordered eBay Inc.'s marketing services unit to turn over text messages it had sent to consumers on behalf of American Eagle Outfitters Inc. as class action attorneys seek to determine whether eBay is potentially liable for sending out spam messages.

A Florida federal judge on Monday rejected an attorney-plaintiff's bid for class certification in a suit accusing Voice Media Group Inc. of sending unwarranted text messages, saying he failed to show the size of the proposed class just days after he hurled similar allegations at American Eagle Outfitters Inc.
