Following a ruling that tossed a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act lawsuit against "patent interceptor" Iron Dome LLC over an America Invents Act challenge to patents owned by Chinook Licensing DE LLC, Iron Dome asked the judge Friday to order Chinook to pay its legal fees.

A Delaware federal judge on Thursday threw out a U.S. Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act lawsuit Chinook Licensing DE LLC lodged against self-styled "patent interception" firm Iron Dome LLC for failing to state a claim, ruling that many of Chinook's arguments were based on "flawed premises."

Iron Dome LLC, a company that says it aims to "intercept" nonpracticing entity lawsuits by challenging patents in America Invents Act reviews, lost a bid on Friday to invalidate a patent owned by Chinook Licensing DE LLC, which has called Iron Dome's business model "extortion" in a lawsuit.
