7th Circ. Won't Rehear Suit Over Mortgage E-Payment Fees
The Seventh Circuit on Monday refused to grant a rehearing to NYCB Mortgage Co. LLC after it ruled the company wrongly charged a late fee to a customer who authorized an electronic payment two days before it was due, reviving her class action claiming that withholding credit for online payments violates the Truth in Lending Act.
