Oil Heir Urges 5th Circ. To Rehear $25M Contingency Award
A Hunt Petroleum Corp. heir urged the Fifth Circuit to rehear his case challenging an arbitrator's $25 million contingency fee award to lawyers who represented him in a family trust dispute, saying that the appellate court's previous decision to uphold the "unconscionable" award conflicts with Texas public policy.

5th Circ. Revives $25M Contingency Award In Oil Heir Fight
The Fifth Circuit on Thursday reinstated a $25 million contingency fee awarded in arbitration to lawyers who had represented a Hunt Petroleum Corp. heir in a fight over family trusts, reversing a district judge's determination the fee was unconscionable.
