An attorney for the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday asked a New York federal judge to toss the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's subpoena for documents in connection with a health care insider trading probe, saying the House is immune to the request and the court lacks jurisdiction to enforce it.

An attorney for the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday received a New York federal judge's approval for a one-week extension to explain why the Ways and Means Committee shouldn't be forced to produce documents sought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with a health care insider trading probe.
