A California federal jury on Tuesday found that JF Technology Berhad infringed Johnstech International Corp.'s patent for a device meant to prevent wear on the equipment that tests computer chips, awarding nearly $637,000 in damages.

Johnstech International Corp. kicked off a patent infringement trial over its computer chip testing device before a California federal jury Monday, alleging in opening statements and in testimony that after its founder rejected a subcontracting proposal from JF Technology Berhad, the Malaysian manufacturer copied the technology and sold it as its own.
