Duane Morris LLP got the boot Tuesday when a California federal judge determined the firm's representation of Florida-based MDVIP Inc. in a 2008 trade secrets suit disqualifies it from now bringing an antitrust suit against that same company on behalf of another concierge medicine provider.

Concierge medicine provider Signature MD Inc. urged a California federal court on Friday not to disqualify Duane Morris LLP from representing it in its antitrust suit against MDVIP Inc., claiming the firm's representation of MDVIP in a separate trade secrets dispute shouldn't bar it from the current case.

Florida-based concierge medicine provider MDVIP Inc. was hit with a suit in California federal court Monday accusing it of monopolizing the U.S. concierge medicine market by cutting exclusive multiyear deals with physicians and blocking them from working with other concierge medicine providers.
