Celebrity surfer Joel Tudor and the CEO of Kookbox Surfboards Inc. told a California federal judge Tuesday that they've settled a suit claiming Tudor tried to destroy the company and steal its trademark, ending a bitter dispute between Kookbox's co-owners and founders.

A California federal judge on Monday refused to disqualify Milberg & DePhillips PC from representing a celebrity surfer and co-owner of Kookbox Surfboards Inc. in a suit alleging he's using the company's trademark in a separate venture, saying the firm doesn't have confidential information that's adverse to Kookbox from the earlier trademark filing.

Milberg & DePhillips PC on Friday slammed a bid to disqualify the firm from representing a famous surfer and Kookbox Surfboards Inc. co-owner in a suit claiming the athlete ripped off Kookbox's trademark to sell surfboards for a different venture, telling a California federal judge that the law firm never represented Kookbox.
