Spirits company Sazerac Co. moved Wednesday to toss a lawsuit claiming the term "double barreled" is a protected trademark, calling it generic industry jargon that one company "cannot possibly" monopolize.

Liquor manufacturer Sazerac Co., the maker of Buffalo Trace bourbon whiskey, is being accused of flouting the trademark of Prichard's Distillery Inc. by using the term "double barreled" on several of its whiskey products.
