A New York federal judge trimmed a slew of claims Thursday from a proposed class action alleging General Motors Co. concealed defects that allowed antifreeze to leak from radiators in certain Chevrolet Cruzes, but allowed certain limited-warranty and deceptive-practices claims.

A Chevrolet Cruze owner targeted General Motors Co. with a putative class action on Monday, accusing the carmaker of concealing defects that allowed antifreeze to leak from radiators in 2011 and later Cruze models, which allegedly damaged the cars.
