Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. on Friday said several settlements it had reached with U.S. distributors barring the sale of tires that the Japanese-based company claims infringe its patents cannot, under state law, expose the manufacturer to separate business tort claims that have been filed in California federal court.
