Two law partners were unable to escape a nearly $200,000 sanction handed down over their client's deposition testimony in a patent infringement case against Citrix Inc., when the Federal Circuit on Wednesday refused to overturn the lower court's decision.

One of the attorneys for an inventor in a long-running patent infringement case against Citrix Inc. urged a Federal Circuit panel to overturn nearly $200,000 in sanctions against him and his law partner Friday, saying a simple deposition mistake did not justify the sanctions.
