A Florida federal judge on Thursday nixed Mobile Promotions Network LLC's bid to sanction Holland & Knight LLP for representing a website design company in a "frivolous" trademark row, saying there were "some isolated incidents" where customers were confused by the alleged infringement.

Holland & Knight LLP hit back Tuesday against Mobile Promotions Network LLC's motion for sanctions in Florida federal court in a case accusing MPN of trademark infringement, arguing MPN repeatedly distorted the firm's legal theory, which did not require infringement to succeed on some claims.
