An Illinois federal judge on Thursday issued a default judgment against a Slovakian company accused of fraudulently mailing small businesses and organizations documents that, if signed, put them on the hook for over $1,000 and a three-year contract for trade show services, ordering $7 million to be paid to the Federal Trade Commission.

The Federal Trade Commission on Thursday asked an Illinois federal court for a default judgment against a Slovakian company that led a $7 million fraud through deceptive mailings and separately asked for approval of an agreement with the company's owners to pay $200,000.
