Florida's attorney general and the Federal Trade Commission on Monday announced that they have reached a settlement worth more than $27 million in connection with a computer support scam that will also see several connected companies shut down.

The Federal Trade Commission and the Florida Attorney General's Office reached settlements Friday with a group of companies and individuals that allegedly scammed thousands of Florida residents, especially the elderly, out of millions of dollars by deceiving them into buying computer software and tech support for unnecessary reasons.
