Mercedes-Benz USA Inc. and an electronic lock-maker are near an agreement to settle their dispute over Mercedes' alleged infringement of the company's patent for a door-locking system, the parties told a Texas federal judge Tuesday.

An electronic lock company filed three separate lawsuits in Texas federal court Wednesday, alleging Mercedes-Benz USA LLC, BMW of North America LLC, and Vivent Inc. infringed the company's patent for a door locking system.
