A California federal judge on Monday refused to dismiss GeoCities founder John Rezner's case accusing Bayerische Hypo-Und Vereinsbank AG of violating the RICO Act by tricking him into investing in an illegal tax shelter, rejecting HVB's argument that the Ninth Circuit barred his claims.

A California federal judge said Thursday he'd likely allow GeoCities founder John Rezner to go forward with claims that Bayerische Hypo-Und Vereinsbank AG violated the RICO Act by tricking him into investing in an illegal tax shelter, rejecting HVB's argument that Rezner didn't show he was harmed.
