After a backlash on social media, Lagunitas Brewing Co. moved Wednesday to drop its trademark lawsuit against craft brew rival Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. over the use of the acronym "IPA" on labels for India pale ale, just two days after the suit was filed.

California beer maker Lagunitas Brewing Co. sued larger craft brew rival Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in California federal court on Monday alleging trademark infringement over new labels that prominently feature the acronym "IPA."
