A California federal judge on Friday pared down a composer's suit alleging that much of Hollywood soundtrack heavyweight Hans Zimmer's score to best picture winner "12 Years a Slave" was lifted from his own little-known musical work, tossing certain claims brought under the Lanham Act and foreign law.
