A California federal judge on Friday tossed nine similar suits filed by Adaptix Inc. accusing major companies including Apple Inc., Amazon.com Inc. and Sony Corp. of infringing patents covering LTE technology, ruling the claims are duplicative of those in pending or concluded cases.

Apple Inc., HTC Corp., AT&T Mobility and Verizon Wireless urged a California federal judge Thursday to toss Adaptix Inc.'s latest suits claiming they infringed two patents on LTE wireless technology, arguing that the allegations are barred by earlier rulings that they didn't infringe the patents.
