A California federal judge on Monday said she is considering disqualifying Locke Lord LLP from representing a putative class accusing a nutritional supplement company of selling pills laced with high levels of lead, saying she's "not confident the class is being well-represented" in the suit.

A U.S. company accused of ensnaring unwitting Chinese investors in a pyramid scheme hawking bogus nutritional supplements asked a California federal court Tuesday to strike class allegations from a suit against it or, alternatively, to disqualify Locke Lord LLP and its co-counsel Howarth & Smith from representing the plaintiffs, citing alleged conflicts of interest.
