Nissan Settles Hybrid Vehicle Battery Patent Suit
The fifth in a series of five patent infringement suits filed earlier this year in Texas federal court against automakers and their suppliers over hybrid vehicle battery systems was thrown out Monday after Nissan North America followed in the footsteps of Ford and settled with patent holder Somaltus LLC.

Ford Motor Co., Nissan North America Inc. and three auto parts manufacturers were hit with patent infringement suits in Texas federal court Thursday, with Somaltus LLC alleging the companies infringed its patent for battery systems in hybrid vehicles.
