Auto parts manufacturer Cadex Electronics Inc. may have to face infringement claims over a hybrid-vehicle battery patent after a Texas federal magistrate recommended against dismissing the case Thursday.

Ford Motor Co., Nissan North America Inc. and three auto parts manufacturers were hit with patent infringement suits in Texas federal court Thursday, with Somaltus LLC alleging the companies infringed its patent for battery systems in hybrid vehicles.
