A New Jersey federal judge signed off Tuesday on a permanent injunction barring Par Pharmaceutical Inc. from selling a generic version of Shire LLC's attention deficit hyperactivity disorder medication Adderall XR.

Amerigen Pharmaceuticals Inc. has to let Shire LLC look through its confidential information, namely its abbreviated new drug application, to figure out if it infringed Shire's patent for Adderall XR, a New Jersey magistrate judge ruled Friday.
