Michael Kors Stores Inc. has agreed to pay $925,000 to settle a proposed class action alleging the company cheated about 4,000 retail employees out of overtime pay and meal breaks, according to a proposed settlement filed in California federal court Friday.

A California federal magistrate judge ruled Friday that sanctions aren't warranted against Michael Kors Stores Inc. for failing to turn over information in the proper format to a former employee in a putative wage class action, letting the retailer off the hook with a comment on the lack of well-settled precedent in electronic production disputes.
