A New York federal court has denied an engineering consulting firm's bid to claim more than $204,000 in carryback credits because the firm did not make that claim in its first amended complaint.

A New York engineering consulting firm sued the U.S. government in federal court Tuesday, alleging the government incorrectly disallowed $204,000 in research and development tax credits and subsequently withheld $600,000 in refunds because of the disallowance.
