An ex-employee of an HCA Holdings Inc. affiliate fought a bid to dismiss his False Claims Act suit Wednesday in Florida federal court, saying it isn't barred by the statute of limitations and that he has provided enough detail regarding allegations that the hospital group performed risky and unnecessary medical procedures.

Hospital group HCA Holdings Inc. asked a Florida federal judge Thursday to dismiss a False Claims Act suit brought by a former employee of an affiliate company, saying the qui tam complaint was based on privileged documents, not first-hand knowledge or insight.
