Even though the Federal Trade Commission hasn't had guidelines on when it will seek monetary remedies in competition cases in nearly three years, experts say Monday's $26.8 million deal with Cardinal Health Inc. should allow attorneys to advise their clients on when they might face disgorgement.

Cardinal Health Inc. on Monday agreed to pay $26.8 million to resolve the Federal Trade Commission's claim that it illegally monopolized the sale of low-energy radiopharmaceuticals to health care providers in 25 areas, in the watchdog's second-highest antitrust disgorgement deal ever.
