General Mills Inc. said it should not have to wait until discovery to find out which baking mixes are at issue in a proposed class action alleging the mixes harm plaintiffs by including trans-fatty partially hydrogenated oil, in a filing in California federal court on Monday.

General Mills Inc. took aim Monday at a proposed class action in California federal court over partially hydrogenated oils containing trans fats in its baking mixes, claiming that the plaintiff never suffered any harm and that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not yet banned the ingredients.
