AutoZone Inc., one of 43 recent targets of patent plaintiff Shipping and Transit LLC, on Thursday escaped litigation launched this spring by the nonpracticing entity accusing the company of infringing four patents by sending customers advance shipping notices and shipping confirmation emails.

AutoZone Among 11 Retailers Sued In Tracking Patent Blitz
AutoZone Inc. and 10 other retailers have been sued in the last week in Florida federal court by a company that appears to be related to notorious patent plaintiff ArrivalStar SA, alleging the companies' advance shipping notices and shipping confirmation emails to customers who purchase products online infringe four patents.
