Wi-LAN Inc. must pay a substantial share of the defense costs Vizio Inc. and Sharp Electronics Corp. incurred while fighting needlessly prolonged patent infringement claims that Wi-LAN knew were unsupportable, a Delaware federal judge has ruled.
