Lockheed Says Negligence Not A Defense In Cleanup Suit
Lockheed Martin asked a New York federal judge on Friday to rule that Glencore Ltd. can't wriggle out of paying millions of dollars for environmental cleanup from a shuttered alumina refinery in the U.S. Virgin Islands by claiming Lockheed Martin was negligent in building or operating the facility, saying negligence isn't a factor in determining liability.
