Ironshore Specialty Insurance Co. urged a Massachusetts federal judge Friday not to toss its case seeking reimbursement of $2.8 million it paid out over an oil spill involving a U.S. Navy ship at an insured repair dock, arguing the government and its contractor are liable under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990.

An insurance company is accusing the U.S. Navy and a General Dynamics Inc. subsidiary of leaving it on the lurch for $2.2 million in cleanup costs from an 11,000-gallon oil spill in a Boston drydock, according to a lawsuit filed in Massachusetts federal court Tuesday.
