A California federal judge said Thursday that he's unlikely to put Jawbone's patent infringement suit against rival Fitbit on ice while similar allegations proceed before the International Trade Commission, calling Jawbone's motion for a stay "a bit odd" given that it sought jurisdiction in federal court.

A week before its initial public offering, Fitbit Inc. was hit in California federal court Wednesday with the second lawsuit in as many weeks by rival Jawbone, which accused the maker of wearable fitness trackers of infringing three of its patents covering fitness-tracking technology.
