A Missouri federal judge on Thursday denied a request to pause discovery in Sporting Innovations KC LLC's suit looking to block former executives from forming a rival company, saying the consultant pushing for the stay will have to participate while it awaits a ruling on its dismissal bid.

Technology consulting firm Sporting Innovations KC LLC urged a Missouri federal judge Friday to block its ex-CEO and others from competing against it with a new company, and to return computer equipment it says they took.
