Verizon's Massachusetts unit settled and dismissed Tuesday its allegations that a Massachusetts town illegally denied its application to place a cell tower in the township, according to a Massachusetts federal court filing.

Verizon Wireless sued a Massachusetts city in federal court Wednesday after its proposal to build a new cell tower was denied, saying the rejection violated the Telecommunications Act because the tower would fill a gap in coverage with minimal environmental impact.
