A Massachusetts federal magistrate judge on Tuesday vehemently denied a request from Textron Systems Corp., the last American manufacturer of cluster bombs, to censor 32 specific subjects at an upcoming deposition in a legal battle over a Saudi consultant's alleged $30 million cut of a $1 billion transaction.

The last American manufacturer of cluster bombs does not have to disclose whatever legal advice it was operating under when it arranged a roughly $1 billion sale of the internationally banned weapons to Saudi Arabia in 2011, a Massachusetts federal judge decided on Friday.

The First Circuit on Wednesday revived, in part, a Saudi consulting firm’s claims it was stiffed by a U.S. defense contractor for fees related to a weapons deal with the Saudi government, finding a lower court failed to adequately address the firm’s misrepresentation claim.
